We’ve just finished a build of the lumibrick skate shop for a shop window display. Here’s a tour of the finished build:
The set is great fun to build. Packed full of details, and not a sticker in sight.
The included lumibricks light kit was so easy to install, as it’s added through the build rather than fitted at the end. The design naturally hides the wires in clever ways, and it was so simple to follow the instructions.
The base of the set is 32 x 26 Studs. Build on provided solid plates rather than the thin base plates found in Lego sets. This means you can construct it at a 32×26 block, or simply build it on a 32×32 and then add more pavement to the empty 6×32 area. We wanted to build this on a mils plate, so it can slot into a modular city easily, so we just added some grey 4×4 tiles to extend the paved area to fit a 32×32 base.

lumibricks really ‘get’ the whole afol (adult fans of Lego) addiction… there’s just the right amount of detail, practical build dynamics, and quirky areas to discover that make this hobby so compelling. You can tell from the moment you crack open the box, that it’s been put together by a team that love brick building as well as being committed to growing a major world market alternative brick brand.
The lumibrick Skate Shop set is a brilliant set for all levels of ability. It’s one of the 5 lumibricks bestsellers for good reason, as both a starter city building set, or a modular that will fit nicely into an expert builders cityscape.
